They have awesome suggestions, easy directions and they are fun. I suggest Brussels because if it is your first time to Belgium, it is a perfect 3-flavour-cake-mix of Belgian culture.

It is a bit French, a bit Flemish and a bit of typical Brussels. You can visit Grand-Place, a breathtaking sight when you have never been to a place like this!! Mannekin pis, which always turns out being smaller then people expect :P The atomium is pretty cool as well. If you are into comic strips, theres the comic strip walk, which is a walk through the city with many comic strip murals along the way.

You can walk down Koningsstraat, and it will take you to the Royal Palace and Park I think when the flag is flying the king is there. You can visit the palace of Justice huuuuuuuuuuuge , worth taking a step inside and looking up! Also in front of the Palace of justice there is a glass elevator that will take you down to the Marolles also draws tourists for its unique atmosphere and little shops as well a the sunday market. In the old days, the Justice Palace had been built high above the marolles as a sign or Richer towering above the poor and being menacing.

On a side note.. Easter being catholic and the marolles having a high density or Muslim population, there could be some tension , preferable to avoid.

Sometimes religious holidays cause scandals within the country, especially Brussels, due to Belgians putting out decorations and extremist Muslims disagreeing with the public displays of the holidays they dont believe in. As long as you stick to the beaten path you should have no problems at all though!

For nightlife, I would suggest the tourist trap of Rue des Boucher area! There is the Delirium bar, where they serve absynth as well as a few bars in that area with tons of great Belgian beers!

All that info is in the Use-it maps I linked. PS rue des boucher If you are not interested For Bruges, things to do and visit, chocolate museum, the bruges Zot Brewery at the end of the tour they give you a glass of beer that hasnt been refined for bottleing yet. It is delicious and strong.

Chocolate shops are everywhere and soooo yummy! The Jane is also a beautiful place but very hard to get into. The Jenever cafe has over Belgian types of jenever liqueur a local specialty. Beer Passion Weekend is a great event on Groenplaats a secondary square for tasting all sorts of beer.

In Ghent, the canals are lined with relaxed bars, cafes, and chocolate shops. The town also has its fair share of good restaurants, such as the reputable Oak, Vrijmoed, and De Vitrine. Belga Queen and Pakhuis are quite glamorous. Waterzooi stew is a popular local dish. Places like De Gekroonde Hoofden or Amadeus offer all-you-can-eat spare ribs. Ghent is a university town so it has many students and young professionals, resulting in a lively nightlife, namely around Koornmarkt, Overpoortstraat, Oude Beestenmarkt, and Oude Beestenmarkt.

Thursday night is typically the best time for going out. Antwerp has a major shopping street Meir often considered to have some of the best shopping in Belgium.

The shopping areas in Antwerp primarily cater to locals rather not tourists, which makes it attractive to travelers. In Antwerp, many travelers choose to stay near the Antwerp Central train station, which makes it convenient for traveling to and from Paris or Amsterdam or taking a day trip to Ghent. The Ibis Budget is often mentioned as an affordable, clean and modern, albeit relatively basic option.

There are many other hotels of different categories around the Antwerp central station. All are conveniently located, allowing you to quickly drop your luggage and walk to the city center for a day visit.

In general, hotels located in the area between the Italielei boulevard that wraps around the old town, and the river are typically within walking distance of the center and have restaurants and bars around them. The Carlton Hotel in Ghent is often recommended — good breakfasts, helpful staff and managers.

The Ghent Marriott also has a good reputation. Ostend, on the North Sea coast, is a minute train ride from Ghent. You can then catch the coast tram kuustram and explore different coastal towns, namely De Haan which has a pretty beach and a long seafront promenade.

You can also visit the German Atlantik Wall museum. From Antwerp, you can of course take day trips to Brussels, Leuven, etc under 1 hour by train. I'm Jesse, I've lived in and traveled to many different countries, and each time around I've done tons of research on the different places I could visit.

I've always loved comparing cities before and after see them.
